Arsene Wenger is said to have discussed signing the player with his coaching staff, according to the Daily Mail, and sees the South Korean as an ideal, Premier League ready option to bolster the north London side’s midfield.
Ki has actually been an Arsene Wenger target before with the French coach trying to sign the player whilst he was at Celtic, but ultimately this fell through to make way for the eventual £7 million deal to take him to Wales and the Liberty Stadiu.
The 26-year-old has impressed this season in his 33 appearances for the Swans, often in that holding midfield role Arsenal are always looking short of numbers in – and he could be another option on their wishlist in this position with Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin thought to be first choice. Ki, however, would be the cheaper option.
Earlier this week, Schneiderlin was adamant that he wanted to play for a Champions League club and wanted to remain in England, upping the ante for what could be a sensational move to the Gunners.
