Real Madrid are reportedly planning a £21m offer for Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny.
The La Liga giants are making contingency plans in case they lose Sergio Ramos to Manchester United.
United have apparently made the Spanish World Cup winner their top defensive target this summer after learning that talks between Ramos and Real over a new contract have broken down.
Although he has two years left on his current deal at the Bernabeu, Real are seemingly becoming less confident of persuading Ramos to commit and are already identifying potential replacements.

The Mirror claims that Koscielny, who has developed into one of the best defenders in Europe since moving to the Gunners in 2010, is on their radar but would be fought for tooth and nail by Arsenal.
The 29-year-old French international signed a new long-term contract at the Emirates Stadium last year.
