Arsenal are facing stiff competition from Wolfsburg for Real Madrid star Alvaro Morata…
Arsenal will face stiff competition from German Bundesliga side Wolfsburg in pursuit of 21-year old Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata.
The Metro reports that the Spanish youth international is very unhappy with the lack of playing time at the Bernabeu, and although he wants to force a move away, Real Madrid are only willing to sell him if they have a buy-back clause inserted in any potential deal for him.
Although Gunners’ boss Arsene Wenger is said to be a big fan of Morata, the Frenchman is hesitant to agree to a buy-back clause since the goal-poacher could be prematurely snatched away from the Emirates, if he impresses. Wolfsburg meanwhile, could be open to an idea of a buy-back clause if it means that they can land the Spaniard as reinforcement, which could give them an advantage in negotiations with the Spanish giants.
The likes of Tottenham and Juventus have also registered an interest in Morata, who made just 7 starts this past season under Carlo Ancelotti.
