Gunners have been tracking player all season long.
Arsenal could potentially miss out on signing highly-rated Schalke 04 midfield player Julian Draxler this summer after it emerged that fellow Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund are also keen on signing the player at the end of the season, reports talkSPORT.
The north London giants have been closely monitoring the young Germany international all season with a view to bringing the player to the Emirates as soon as the summer transfer window opens on June 1.
However, it appears as though the Gunners may lose out to Dortmund in the race to win the 19-year-old’s signature, especially with Jurgen Klopp’s side now cash rich following their recent sale of Mario Gotze to Bayern Munich for £32 million – and searching for a replacement for the playmaker.
But Draxler, who has 11 goals in 34 matches this season in all competitions, has a contract with the Ruhr Valley giants until the summer of 2016 and so Schalke are under no pressure whatsoever to sell the player to either club, unless he specifically pushes for an exit.
