Arsenal named just one English player in their starting XI to face Liverpool tonight.
Calum Chambers was the lone ranger flying the cross of St George for the Gunners, but he has also been the worst player on the pitch in the first half.
The 20-year-old has looked intimated by Christian Benteke and dazzled by Philippe Coutinho.
Chambers has also been a little sloppy in possession. His pass success rate of 76% is lower than all nine of his outfield teammates.
Arsenal fans were rightly concerned when Chambers and Gabriel were announced as Arsene Wenger’s starting centre-backs, due to injuries to Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker.
They expressed their concern on Twitter.

That concern had developed into something much stronger by half time…
Horrible first half from Chambers. Like that mate in five a side who is no good but insists on trying play fancy stuff. Keep it simple. #MNF

HT: 0-0. Somehow it’s goalless. Chambers having an absolute ‘mare. Cech incredible. Ramsey goal wrongly ruled offside. Changes needed.

We need The Ox on, Ramsey wide hasn’t worked at all & we need The Ox sprinting on the ball, getting it as far from Chambers as possible.

Can we now please stop pretending Chambers is the new Tony Adams. Always get pelted for saying it but he’s not good enough. Needs loaning.
