Vidal had been heavily linked with a move to the Gunners over recent weeks, but reports of a done deal were quashed early this week, with The Sun reporting Arsenal had not made contact with the Chilean international.
However, Fichajes.net [via Metro] reports Arsene Wenger is now willing now make a move for the former Bayer Leverkusen man, with a £21.2m fee believed to be enough to seal the deal.
Vidal is reportedly looking for a new challenge outside of Italy, and the chance to link up with Chile teammate Alexis Sanchez at the Emirates could be too much to turn down.
Fichajes.net’s report conflicts with reports that emerged on Wednesday, which suggested the 28-year-old had agreed a move to La Liga giants Real Madrid.
According to Spanish newspaper Sport [via Daily Express], Vidal has agreed a five-year deal with Real Madrid and will leave Juventus this month.
Will it be Arsenal or Real Madrid? Time will tell…
