Bastian Schweinsteiger was confirmed as Manchester United’s third summer signing on Saturday.
The Bayern Munich legend will join fellow new boys Memphis Depay and Matteo Darmian at Old Trafford once he completes a medical and agrees personal terms with the Red Devils.
Schweinsteiger is not just a legend at club level, he is also considered a true great for his achievements with the German national team.
The 30-year-old has been capped 111 times by his country’s senior team, helping them win the 2014 World Cup along the way.
One of Schweinsteiger’s Germany teammates, former Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski, took to Instagram last night to wish United’s latest signing well.
Podolski, who was sold by the Gunners to Galatasaray earlier this summer, shared a photo of himself and Schweinsteiger topless, along with the message: “All the best my friend for your new challenge”.
