£6.9m looks a likely fee as the Serie A club reach a breakthrough with Arsenal.
Gervinho’s mixed stay in North London could soon be over, as AS Roma’s talks with Arsenal look set to be completed as soon as Wednesday.
After an Italian delegation met with the Gunners on Tuesday, discussions will continue Wednesday as the clubs try to agree a structure for Roma’s £6.9m offer.
Goal.com believe the Italian side would have seemingly little trouble matching Gervinho’s Arsenal weekly wage packet of £50,000.
Roma’s new manager Rudi Garcia coached Gervinho through the best form of his career during his time at OSC Lille, which included a Ligue 1 title.
Olympique Marseille have also thrown their hat into the ring for Gervinho’s services but they only offering a loan deal, whereas it is believed Arsenal would much prefer to rid him from the books permanently.
Should the sale of the Ivorian go ahead then Arsenal will be looking to put the extra funs and freed wages towards a big new signing – most likely Luis Suarez or Everton’s midfield goliath Marouane Fellaini.
