Despite speculation linking Cesc Fabregas with Arsenal and Manchester United, FC Barcelona are not keen to allow Cesc Fabregas to leave Camp Nou.
Spanish giants FC Barcelona have rubbished speculation that their star playmaker Cesc Fabregas is for sale and have warned any potential suitors against trying to unsettle him this summer.
Stating that the Catalans have no intention of selling any of their players in the off season, club president Josep Bartomeu was quoted by the Metro as saying, “We don’t want to sell players. Barca do not want to sell Fabregas or any other players that may appear to be on the market.”
These comments from Barcelona come as a big blow to the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United, who are waiting to swoop if the 27-year old playmaker is put up for sale.
The former Arsenal star has not shared a very good relationship with the fans at the Camp Nou of late, which has heightened speculation that he might be considering leaving the club in the summer.
While Manchester United have held an interest in Fabregas since the start of last summer, Arsenal reportedly have a first option clause inserted into the midfielder’s deal with Barcelona that enables them to sign their former skipper if he is indeed allowed to leave the club.
