Arsenal transfer news
The Colombian international has been in superb goalscoring form since moving to Porto, scoring an excellent 88 goals in the last three seasons to attract plenty of interest from big clubs all around Europe.
Arsenal could certainly do with a front-man of his calibre at the moment, with doubts remaining over the ability of players like Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck to score 25-30 goals a season and make an impact in the big games.
It now looks as though the Gunners have now been invited to bid for the talented 28-year-old, with Porto already looking at Celta Vigo forward Nolito coming in as his replacement upfront for next season.
It may be that Porto would not want to sell Martinez to Arsenal without having a new striker signing lined up first, but this move brings the north Londoners ever closer to landing the player and improving their strike force.
