With the Khedira deal seemingly falling through, Arsenal could turn their attentions to Lars Bender of Bayer Leverkusen, reports the Mirror.

Bender missed the World Cup through injury, but provides a similarly combative presence in midfield as Khedira, and could arrive at the Emirates to provide a platform from which the attacking players can perform.
