Arsenal have been handed a major boost in the chase for long-term target Karim Benzema, according to reports.
Benzema has been heavily linked with a move to the Gunners this summer, and Daily Express reports Real Madrid could finally be prepared to sell the French international.
However, Benzema’s future relies on that of Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus, with the La Liga giants reportedly keen to bring the German international to the Bernabeu.
According to Daily Express’s report, Reus could cost Real Madrid in the region of £63m and the Spanish club may sell Benzema to Arsenal to fund the deal.
Reus is also understood to have interest from Liverpool, with the Reds last week selling Raheem Sterling to Manchester City for £49m.
It has been reported that Real Madrid are in pole position to snare the signature of Reus, and Gunners boss Arsene Wenger will be hoping Real president Florentino Perez can get the deal over the line.
