Arsenal have been given renewed hope in their attempts to sign Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira, who could be available for as little as £8m.
The Daily Mirror believe that Real Madrid are preparing to slash the German’s asking price, as they would prefer to sell the player now than lose him on a free transfer next summer.
World Cup winning star Khedira, 27, has been regularly linked with a move to the Gunners – along with several other Premier League clubs – but a deal has so far failed to materialize.
Arsene Wenger is desperate to land a holding midfielder before the end of the transfer window, and has also looked as Sporting Lisbon star William Carvalho.
Having already spent in excess of £60m on the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Mathieu Debuchy, David Ospina and Calum Chambers this summer, Arsenal are seeking the final addition to their squad ahead of the new season.
They were initially priced out of a move for Khedira, but these latest developments could open the door for the Gunners to make a late move before the end of the transfer window.
