Arsenal are edging closer to the signing of Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema, according to reports.
Benzema has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates this summer, and the Gunners are believed to have had a £31.3m deal transfer offer turned down by the La Liga giants.
However, Spanish publication Fichajes reports Real Madrid will accept a new £40m offer from the North London club, with Arsene Wenger keen to bolster his stocks in the front third ahead of the new season.
Despite the reports, respected journalist Guillem Balague tweeted that there was “no chance” Benzema will join Arsenal this summer.
For those asking: no chance whatsoever of Benzema leaving Real Madrid this summer (so no way he will go to Arsenal)

Daily Express reports Arsenal are in talks to sign Juventus sriker Fernando Llorente in a cut-price £8.5m deal, with the player’s agent understood to be in London.
