Arsenal are reportedly ready to pounce before the transfer window closes if Real Madrid opt to allow Karim Benzema to leave.
Benzema is not in the Real Madrid squad for the Audi Cup 2015 after picking up an injury, and he is set to miss the start of the La Liga season due to the thigh problem.

However, Madrid boss Rafa Benitez is adamant that the French international will remain with the club this season even though he envisages Gareth Bale playing in a more central role.
His intended formation and system has only added to the speculation that Benzema may well be bound for London this summer, and it appears as though the Gunners are ready and waiting.
According to the Guardian, Arsene Wenger is willing to wait until the end of the transfer window to sign his primary target, much like he did with the signing of Mesut Ozil.
If Benzema finds himself to be the odd man out at the Bernabeu to start the season, it could be enough to persuade the Frenchman that he needs a new challenge elsewhere.
A lack of playing time will also negatively effect his chances of making the national squad for Euro 2016 in France next summer, and so it will be a crucial decision for both his short-term and long-term future.
Los Blancos currently hold all the answers, but it appears as though Arsenal are ready to make their move if the situation changes.
