Arsene Wenger: Arsenal can still beat Chelsea to the title
The Germany international has now entered the final year of his contract with Jurgen Klopp’s men, and has been a long time target for a number of Premier League clubs including the Gunners and Manchester United.
However, only Arsene Wenger and Manchester City have submitted any official interest in landing his signature, with the Gunners believed to be ready to launch a £20million bid over the summer.
The 24-year-old missed almost all of the previous campaign with a back injury, but has come back this year to make a more meaningful contribution to the club’s escape from relegation troubles, to bag himself three goals in 26 appearances across all competitions.
Dortmund are eager to ensure that he doesn’t follow Klopp out the exit door this summer, and have handed him an extension until 2019, though he has yet to indicate whether he will put pen to paper.
