Gunners confident of landing Balotelli as their prime signing this summer.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has opened talks with the agent of AC Milan striker target Mario Balotelli to discuss the terms over a move to the Emirates Stadium, reports the Daily Star.
The Frenchman wants to conclude a deal before the start of next season, and is confident of doing so, having done the groundwork for the transfer.
Although one of Balotelli’s previous bosses Jose Mourinho was also said to be in the fray for the 23-year old, the Gunners are now firm favourites to land the forward, with the Italian giants also open to selling their star for about £25 million.
Should the deal go through, Balotelli would be the highest earner at Arsenal on £150,000 per week and possibly also start next season as the Gunners’ first choice striker ahead of Olivier Giroud, who has led the line mostly by his own over the last couple of seasons.
