Just 20 years old, Alessio Romagnoli already has a ton of suitors lining up for his services. Can Arsenal land the prized Italian stud?
Arsenal have found their possible replacement for Per Mertesacker in 20-year-old Roma center back Alessio Romagnoli – but face heavy competition for him.
According to the Express, the 20-year-old Romagnoli is also being courted by Serie A powerhouse AC Milan – who are currently angling for a bid of around €20 million (£14.3 million) for his transfer. While Arsenal see Romagnoli as a future replacement for their defensive ace, AC Milan reportedly have a more pressing need for a quality center back right now. But Roma do not seem inclined to budge from their current asking price of €30 million (£21 million) and reportedly rejected a previous offer from AC Milan.
Romagnoli signed a new 4-year contract with Roma in May of last year but ended up playing the majority of the 2014-15 season on loan for Sampdoria.
