Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has reportedly held talks with Dynamo Kiev forward Andriy Yarmolenko, according to reports.
Yarmolenko has been linked with both Barcelona and Everton, however, it seems the Gunners are keen on making a late swoop on the Ukraine ace.
According to Metro [via Sport], Wenger personally phoned Yarmolenko in a bid to convince the striker to turn down other potential suitors to make the move to the Emirates this summer.
Wenger is understood to be keen to bolster his front third before the end of the summer transfer window, and the Frenchman’s attentions have turned to the 25-year-old after he missed out on the capture of Karim Benzema.
The Gunners face a major battle to sign the prolific goalscorer, with Barcelona reported to be eyeing Yarmolenko as a replacement for Pedro.
Yarmolenko has scored an impressive 71 goals in 177 league matches for Dynamo Kiev and has hit the back of the net 19 times in 49 appearances for the Ukraine national side.
