Jovetic nears Emirates Stadium switch.
The agent of Fiorentina striker Stevan Jovetic is in London to finalise a 29m euro (£24.4m) switch to Arsenal, according to Italian source SportMediaSet.
Fali Ramadani is set to discuss personal terms with the Gunners after Fiorentina president Andrea Della Valle decided to accept an offer from the north London outfit, rather than allow Jovetic to join Italian Champions Juventus, who reportedly made a more significant offer.
Jovetic has been influential in Fiorentina’s strong season, bagging 13 league goals and five assists as Vincenzo Montella’s side finished fourth in the Serie A.
But, with Italy boasting just three Champions League spots, La Viola missed out on qualification for UEFA’s premier club competition, while Arsenal qualified for a 16th consecutive season after a fine Premier League run-in.
Arsene Wenger has made strengthening his front-line a top priority before next season, after last summer’s signings Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski failed to fill the significant gap left by Robin van Persie’s departure to Manchester United.
Fiorentina are, however, confident of holding on to 21-year-old Serbian sensational Adem Ljajic.
Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri has backed-up SportsMediaSet’s story, claiming Arsenal have bid exactly 30m euros for Jovetic.
It’s no more just a contact,or interest.Since yesterday an Arsenal bid is on Fiorentina’s table:30m € for Jovetic,exactly the price tag (1)
