The French right-back only just returned from a three-month injury layoff to play against Galatasaray in the Champions League this week, and may now be forced to make a surprise move into the middle.
Laurent Koscielny and Nacho Monreal are out injured while Calum Chambers’ suspension means Per Mertesacker is the club’s only recognised centre half at the moment.
