Max Meyer (FC Schalke 04)
There is a new wonderkid in town at FC Schalke 04, the same academy that Gunners superstar Mesut Ozil graduated from – as did Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.
Julian Draxler has already developed into a crucial member of the Gelsenkirchen side’s first team, and it is the 18 year-old Max Meyer who is now thought of as the top prospect for the Bundesliga outfit.
The young German has earned comparisons with FC Barcelona ace Lionel Messi thanks to his low centre of gravity and skill on the ball, creativity and eye for a pass, and cool finishing in front of goal.
With Draxler already having indicated his intention to move on, FC Schalke 04 are keen to tie Meyer down to a new contract though.
It may prove difficult to tempt Meyer away from Veltins Arena in January as a result, even if the Daily Mail claim Arsenal are keeping tabs on the teenager.
