The Gunners are trying to build a major contender, and Isco could be the final piece of hte puzzle. Will Arsene Wenger seal the deal for the midfield star?
A new contender for Real Madrid star attacker Isco has joined the race for the £35 million star, much to the chagrin of Chelsea and Manchester City.
According to the Express, Arsenal have joined the race for the prized attacking midfielder, undercutting the efforts of the two teams that finished ahead of them in the 2014-15 Premier League table. The Express reported that Arsene Wenger is considering making the necessary £35 million transfer to bring the 23-year-old Spanish national team star to Emirates Stadium.
Man City were thought to have an edge in the race with manager Manuel Pellegrini having an extensive history with Isco, but money talks and Arsenal can talk just as loudly as Man City.
Isco helped lead Real Madrid to a world championship in the 2014 FIFA Club World Cup tournament, scoring a goal in the club’s 4-0 win over Cruz Azul and playing all 90 minutes in their 2-0 win over San Lorenzo in the Club World Cup Final.
In addition, Isco was awarded the coveted Golden Boy award in 2012, an award shared by such football megastars as Wayne Rooney, Sergio Aguero, Paul Pogba, Raheem Sterling, and a little Barcelona forward by the name of Lionel Messi.
