Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has backed Pedro to be a success at Manchester United.
The Barcelona attacker is believed to be close to agreeing a £22m transfer to Old Trafford.
Henry, who played with Pedro at the Camp Nou, feels that the Spanish World Cup winner will perfectly suit Louis van Gaal’s tactics if he does indeed make the switch to the Premier League.
“Van Gaal went on to buy players this summer that can suit the way he wants to play – that’s why he wants Pedro,” the Frenchman told Marca.
“Pedro knows those tactics, he can do what Van Gaal wants. I’ve seen him at Barcelona, he was putting pressure on and staying out wide – he has it.
“It’s the same with [Bastian] Schweinsteiger – Van Gaal knows that if he asks Schweinsteiger to do something, he’ll do it.”
Pedro, 28, has scored 98 goals since making his Barca debut in 2007, and is being lined as a replacement for Angel Di Maria, who has left United for Paris Saint-Germain in a £44m deal.
Arsenal themselves are thought to be in the market for a world-class forward, but have their eyes on Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema and are reportedly preparing a £45m bid.
