Wojciech Szczesny has come in for some criticism lately.
Former Arsenal goalkeeper and goalkeeping coach Bob Wilson has backed the club’s current number one goalkeeper, Wojciech Szczesny, to return to form after a tumultuous couple of weeks that saw him blamed for a number of goals conceded by his side and was also reportedly fined for being caught smoking in the showers following defeat at Southampton.

With reserve David Ospina now fit and having looked competent in the FA Cup win over Hull City, Szczesny now has a fight on his hands to maintain his first choice role, although Wilson believes that some of the recent criticism has been unfair, in comments from the Standard
“He did not have his best game but most ex-keepers would say the last thing you want to do with your No1 goalie is give him a rest. If I was goalkeeping coach there now and Arsene was asking me, I would say, ‘don’t drop him’.”
“Every goalkeeper makes mistakes. I spend a lot of time with David Seaman and all anybody asks him was, ‘what happened with Ronaldinho and Nayim?'”
