Frenchman had been embroiled in a long-running contract dispute with the club.
Arsenal have been given a huge boost with the news that key defender Bacary Sagna will be remaining with the club this summer after all, according to reports in the Daily Mail.
The highly rated France international has been the subject of much talk in recent months linking the full back with a move away from north London this summer, with Sagna’s current contract at the Emirates due to expire on June 30 2014.
However, the 30-year-old has reportedly now told the Gunners’ head coach Arsene Wenger that he is willing to remain in the capital next season after all, despite reported interest in the right back from the likes of both Paris St Germain and Anzhi Mackhachkala.
And that will be an enormous lift for the club as the player has proved himself to be one of the most consistent defenders in the Premier League in recent times, having appeared in 236 appearances for Arsenal since 2007, scoring four goals, including three strikes in his 178 Premier League outings.
