The Gunners are in desperate need to some renewed firepower after current first choice striker Olivier Giroud was ruled out for three months with a broken ankle, and Wenger could now spring for the Colombian international ahead of Monday night’s deadline.
According to reports, Arsenal are preparing an offer for the 27-year-old, who scored 21 goals in 52 appearances last term.
Bacca currently has a release clause set at £27.6million, but Sevilla would be willing to let him move on for a fee in the region of £12.5million and Arsenal are thought to be happy to pay the cut price fee.
Everton had a £6.3million bid rejected for Bacca earlier this summer and he has been wanted by Premier League teams for years.
The 27-year-old joined the La Liga outfit from Club Brugge last summer for just €7 million, and played a starring role in Colombia’s impressive World Cup run.
