Arsenal have been handed a major boost in its chase of Juventus attacker Simone Zaza, according to reports.
The Gunners are believed to have made a move for the 24-year-old on deadline day, but reports suggested Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was put off by Juventus’ £22m valuation.
According to reports in Spain, Juventus could be prepared to allow Zaza to leave the club in January despite only signing him during the summer transfer window.
Zaza has so far struggled to make an impact with the Serie A giants, with Mario Mandzukic, Alvaro Morata and Paulo Dybala currently in front of the former Sassuolo man.
Wenger is looking to bolster his depth in the attacking third after missing out of Karim Benzema and Edinson Cavani in the off-season.
Zaza scored 20 goals in 64 appearances for Sassuolo before joining Juventus, and has notched up six caps with Italy.
Key target Edinson Cavani will undoubtedly be difficult to buy during the winter window, but Zaza could prove to be a solid solution considering the Gunners’ lack of firepower.
