Although the Bhoys lost 3-0 to Juventus, the 21-year-old put in a typically busy display against an inspired Andrea Pirlo.
Manchester United are also reportedly interested in Wanyama, who has particularly impressed in the Champions League this season and scored against Barcelona in the historic 2-1 victory at Celtic Park last year.
After selling Alex Song to Barcelona for £15m in the summer, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has been forced to use Mikel Arteta and Aaron Ramsey as auxiliary holding midfielders this season, with Abou Diaby often unfit.
The French tactician is keen to add a true enforcer to the club’s ranks in the summer, and the North Londoners have also been linked with Toulouse midfielder Etienne Capoue and West Ham’s Mohamed Diame.
