Arsenal transfer gossip
The immensely gifted 18-year-old looks a top talent well worth investing in based on what we’ve seen so far, but the Gunners may be advised against breaking their transfer policy on a player who still has plenty to prove at the top level.
According to the Metro, Benfica won’t consider selling their youngster for less than £40m, but that would eclipse what Arsenal paid for Alexis Sanchez last summer, and come close to matching their club-record fee paid to sign Mesut Ozil the previous summer.
Arsenal already have options in attack, though Arsene Wenger may be looking to a top class youngster like Guedes as a good addition for the future as he ponders bringing in improvements on the likes of Danny Welbeck and Theo Walcott.
