Okazaki has bagged three goals in Europa League and DFB Pokal action on top of his league strikes, making him one of the most in-form attackers in European football right now – and catching the attention of a number of major clubs across the continent.
The former Stuttgart and Shimizu S-Pulse man has been incredible for Mainz since joining the unfashionable Bundesliga club, who were formerly managed by Jurgen Klopp, this summer – helping them to absorb the resignation of impressive young boss Thomas Tuchel.
