With growing interest from Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham in defender Marc Bartra, FC Barcelona management has declared that the £9m center back isn’t for sale.
According to the Express, even though Bartra’s agent has stated his client is willing to listen to offers from other clubs, Barcelona has no interest in releasing their center back – in part because they need him for depth.
Barcelona staff member Ariedo Braida was quoted by fcinternews saying: “We have no intention of transferring him, therefore I consider him to be a player who is unavailable.”
Bartra is coming off his 6th season with Barcelona and has played his entire professional career in Spain. After playing fewer than 10 La Liga games in each of his first four seasons, Bartra has gained more playing time, making 34 appearances and scoring two goals over the last two seasons.
The 24-year-old defender owns two UEFA European Under-21 Championships which he won in 2011 and 2013.
