The former Gunners man, currently on a season-long loan back in the Premier League with West Ham United, has shown his quality this year and looks an underrated talent after barely being given a chance in his time at the Nou Camp.
Song was a key player in his first spell with Arsenal and it could be argued that the club never adequately replaced him when he left in 2012, with the likes of Mikel Arteta and Jack Wilshere failing to establish themselves as the ideal choice for the club in a defensive midfield role.
It may now be that Arsenal will look to bring the 27-year-old back to the Emirates Stadium, though Liverpool also want to strengthen in that part of the pitch as Steven Gerrard prepares to make the move to MLS giants LA Galaxy at the end of the season.
