Reported Arsenal and Liverpool target Nabil Fekir is expected to be out for up to six months after suffering a serious knee injury on international duty.
The Lyon winger was making his senior France debut in their friendly against Portugal last night, but lasted only 14 minutes before being carried off.
It is feared that the highly-rated 22-year-old has sustained serious ligament damage and could be sidelined for much of the rest of the 2015-16 campaign.
That would scupper any potential move to the Premier League in January. Arsenal and Liverpool had been keeping an eye on Fekir, who has admitted his own dream to play for Manchester United.
Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann replaced Fekir, but it was the injury casualty’s Lyon teammate Mathieu Valbuena who scored the late winner as the Euro 2016 hosts won 1-0.
Fekir has scored 20 goals and contributed 17 assists in 59 appearances for Lyon since his 2013 debut.
