Arsenal news
The French international has had an outstanding season in Ligue 1, topping the scoring charts in France’s top flight with 26 goals in 30 games that could fire his club to the title.
Lyon are understandably desperate to keep hold of their star player, though it has emerged that the 23-year-old may be able to leave this summer for a fee of around £35m.
This would match Liverpool’s transfer record with the fee they paid for Andy Carroll, whilst also continuing Arsenal’s recent trend towards buying more established stars such as Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.
Both teams badly need new strikers this summer after unconvincing seasons from players like Danny Welbeck, Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert, while Olivier Giroud continues to divide opinion and Daniel Sturridge struggles with injuries.
