Arsenal and Liverpool look set to miss out on the signing of Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus after it emerged that he has a deal in place to join Real Madrid next summer.
The German international has been linked with a whole host of top clubs in recent times, but Fichajes.net now claims that his agent has met with Madrid officials this week to reach a verbal agreement for his client to move to the Bernabeu next year.
Reus has previously been linked with Real’s La Liga rivals Barcelona as well, though their interest in Luis Suarez this summer saw a deal for the Dortmund forward put on the backburner, though he may now be unavailable.
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti may not currently have a place in his side for Reus, and the 25-year-old will spend one final season with Dortmund before being brought into Los Blancos’ first-team setup next year.
A fee of around £19.9m should be enough for Real to land Reus, with Dortmund still owing the Spanish giants money for the signing of Turkish midfielder Nuri Sahin.
