N’Zonzi had ben linked with moves to Premier League giants Arsenal and Liverpool, but The Times reports the Frenchman will move to the reigning Europa League winners after the two clubs agreed a £7m deal.
The 26-year-old has one year remaining on his deal at the Britannia and it is understood the former Blackburn Rovers man had no interest in signing a new contract with the Potters.
Stoke City manager Mark Hughes admitted the club was resigned to losing N’Zonzi and that the deal would be finalised over the next 24 hours.
“Sevilla have obviously shown a huge interest in Steven,” Hughes told Sky Sports News, as reported by ESPNFC.
“We worked really hard to persuade him his future lay here but it didn’t seem to be enough for him.
“We are probably at a point where we can allow Steven to speak to Sevilla. That will happen in the next 24 hours or so.
“You would imagine at that point if the deal is correct and is what we think it is then the deal would probably be concluded and Steven will join Sevilla.
“These things are never cut and dried until it actually happens as there are always things which can develop very quickly.”
N’Zonzi has made 109 Premier League appearances and scored nine goals for Stoke since joining the club from Blackburn in 2012.
