Arsenal have apparently tabled a €10million (£7.1m) offer for Espanyol centre-back Hector Moreno, according to the Metro.

The 27-year-old defender has been the subject of significant interest from the Premier League this season having recovered well to turn in some spectacular performances for the Catalan side since breaking his leg at last summer’s World Cup.
Both Arsenal and arch rivals Tottenham have been making admiring glances at him over the past few months, but reports in Mexico are suggesting that the Gunners have stolen a march on their neighbours by tabling an early bid.
Despite adding Brazilian tackler Gabriel to the squad in the January transfer window, Arsene Wenger is aware that he is still light on numbers at the back, with only three players at his disposal in that position.
A deal would be easy to push through, too, as his 58 caps for the Mexican national side would ensure that a work permit would not be an issue.
