Arsenal have made a formal approach for Real Madrid midfielder Isco, according to reports.
Isco was heavily linked with a move away from the La Liga heavyweights in the summer, but a deal to move away from the Bernabeu was not forthcoming.
According to Daily Express [via Inside Spanish Football], Arsenal have made contact with Real Madrid over the availability of the 23-year-old with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger understood to be keen to bolster his midfield stocks.
Isco has struggled to nail down a first-team spot at the Bernabeu, and the arrival of Croatian starlet Mateo Kovacic could push the player even further down the pecking order at the club.
The Spanish international is understood to also have interest from Manchester City, but it remains to be seen if Manuel Pellegrini is keen on adding another attacking midfielder to his side following the signings of Raheem Sterling and Kevin de Bruyne.
Metro reports Real Madrid will not entertain any offers under £36.7m for the player.
