Arsenal preparing vital transfer move for Colombia international in order to provide competition in a key position at Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal are readying a bid to sign Colombia international goalkeeper David Ospina from French club OGC Nice, according to the Daily Express.
The 25 year-old has been in superb form for the Ligue 1 side this term, and would be bought to provide competition to Wojciech Szczesny in the Gunners goal.
The Pole is currently undisputed number one at Emirates Stadium thanks to the departures of backup options Lukasz Fabianski to Swansea City on a free transfer, and Emiliano Viviano, who has returned to Palermo after his loan expired.
Ospina was one of Nice’s best players over the course of the campaign in France, but despite his efforts the team only narrowly avoided relegation.
The chance to fight for a place at one of the biggest teams in Europe could certainly appeal, and providing Szczesny with an established international goalkeeper as his rival could inspire him to up his game beyond his current level.
Ospina would not be expected to struggle for a work permit given the 42 caps he has earned for Colombia already.
