Arsenal & Manchester United get boost in race to sign La Liga winger
The England international has been linked with a summer move to the Etihad this past week, according to the Daily Mail, and after an injury-plagued time at the Emirates, there were calls for Wenger to let him go should the right price come in.
If he was to leave London after fourteen years with the club, having come through the academy, he would become the fifth high-profile departure from the Gunners for the Premier League champions in recent years after Emmanuel Adebayor, Gael Clichy, Samir Nasri, and Bacary Sagna.
But his current boss has confirmed that the 23-year-old will be going nowhere with Arsenal in a much stronger position than when his former teammates moved on, the Daily Mirror report.
“We are not in a position anymore where we have to sell our best players.”
“Everybody can have a really big impact over the rest of the season, Jack included,” he explained.
Wilshere has not played since limping off ten minutes into the second-half of their home defeat to Manchester United in November last year.
