The Frenchman is still confident ahead of the weekend.
Ahead of the first north London derby of the season, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has commented on the sale of Gareth Bale to Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur’s summer spending.
Unlike the Gunners, Tottenham have hit the transfer market hard and to date have bought in five new players at a total cost of £59m – breaking the club’s record twice along the way.
Before the window closes on September 2 Spurs are likely to bring in two more faces in Erik Lamela of AS Roma and Steaua Bucharest’s Vlad Chiriches, taking the total spending to close to £100m.
Yet Wenger is unsure that simply buying new talent will make Andre Villas-Boas’ men an better all-round team.

Of course one of the main reasons Tottenham are able to spend so much is due to the impending departure of Bale to Madrid, in what is being touted as a world record £86m move.
The Frenchman also had a brief comment to make on this, baring in mind the 63-year-old’s cautious approach with club finances.

It should be an interesting encounter when the two sides meet at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, what with the home side struggling with injuries currently and their rivals having an abundance of new talent.
