Wilshere has dropped down the pecking order at the Emirates following his injury issues and has found it difficult to break back into Arsene Wenger’s starting XI due to the strong form of the likes of Santi Cazorla, Francis Coquelin and Mesut Ozil.
The England international has been the subject of transfer speculation linking him to Manchester City, however he says it would be “strange” feeling playing for another club.
“I would be hurt if they sold me,” Wilshere told The Daily Mail.
“I want Arsenal to want me. So if they didn’t want me, it would hurt. It would be strange playing for another club. I went to Bolton on loan and that was strange.
“I feel like I’m ready to play now and that’s not going to change. I want to play more minutes before the end of the season and then I’ll have to wait until next season and see what the boss’s plans are for me, for the team.”
The 23-year-old made just nine Premier League appearances this season, but Wenger is believed to be desperate to keep hold of Wilshere.
Wilshere joined Arsenal at just eight years of age and it would be unlikely that the England star would make a move to a rival Premier League club this summer.
