Aaron Ramsey backs Arsene Wenger to make the transfers needed for a Gunners title challenge.
Arsenal and Wales midfielder Aaron Ramsey has backed the club to make the signings that will catapult the club into the title race next season.
During the last few seasons, the Gunners have spent their campaigns battling for UEFA Champions League qualification rather than to win the Premier League, but Ramsey seems confident that will soon change.
With the signing of Clement Grenier nearing completion, it seems as if Arsene Wenger is heeding the words of his midfielder, as the club look to dip into their huge cash reserves and spend big on improving their squad.
Speaking to Goal.com, Ramsey felt that the club needed to start planning for next season, and that next season must bring silverware to the club.
“We must now start planning for next season and I know Arsene will beef up the squad with quality signings. That is the way to go and hopefully we will be able to challenge for top honours come next season.” Ramsey said
“We need a trophy now and next season I have strong belief that Arsenal will not disappoint.”
Arsenal made it 17 consecutive Champions League qualifications this season, pipping Tottenham Hotspur to the final Champions League spot on the final day of the season.
It seems clear from Ramsey’s comments that the belief within the Arsenal changing room is that a strong challenge from the Premier League title is primed from the North London club.
