Arsenal are set to miss out on another target this summer as Real Sociedad goalkeeper looks set to join Barcelona instead of the Gunners, reports the Daily Star.
The Chilean shot-stopper, who will captain his country at this summer’s World Cup, has been recognised as one of a number of targets for the Gunners. Arsene Wenger is in the market for a goalkeeper to offer competition to Wojciech Szczesny and hoped to make the experienced South American that man.
However, Barcelona are looking for someone to fulfil the same role as they need competition for new keeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen. The Catalans seem to have won the race for the 31-year-old, leaving Arsenal in the lurch again.
Bravo has been capped 79 times by Chile, making him the second most selected player in his country’s history. He will line-up in goal against Australia on Friday in Cuiaba and then against both Spain and Netherlands as he looks to lead his side out of a difficult Group B.
Arsenal have been linked with a number of keepers over the summer so far including Cardiff City’s David Marshall and Victor Valdes who is set to leave Barcelona this month.
