The Serb defender will join Schalke in the summer in a deal until 2019 after Roberto Di Matteo’s men met his £7m release clause.
Nestasic is currently spending the season on loan with Schalke after falling out of favour under Manuel Pellegrini.
Schalke has been pleased with his performances thus far, and the player himself is pleased to finally have his future sorted.
“I am proud and happy that I remain a Schalke,” he said.
“The team did very well taken me from day one, I was immediately a part of the team.
“In the future I would like to help us to achieve our goals as a team.”
