Arsenal transfer news.
Roberto Martinez does not want to sell the Republic of Ireland international – who followed the Spaniard to Goodison Park from Wigan Athletic in 2013 in a £13m deal – and has put a £25m price-tag on the 24-year-old as a result.
Yet Spurs are considering meeting that asking price as manager Mauricio Pochettino looks to shake up his squad at White Hart Lane and that means their pursuit of Schneiderlin will be cooled.
Pochettino had been heavily linked with a move for his former Saints player, but with Tottenham looking elsewhere that leaves the Gunners with a free run to sign the France international.
The 25-year-old has been in fine form once again this season and the chances of the midfield ace leaving St Mary’s seems to increase in likelihood every day.
