Higuain has been linked with an exit from the Serie A giants in recent weeks, with Arsenal consistently popping up as a potential destination.
According to Daily Express, Arsenal was close to signing the Argentine international two years ago but a deal never eventuated.
The report suggests Higuain is now keen on a Premier League switch to the North London giants following talks of a £43m bid from Arsenal.
However, Gazzetta.it reports Napoli will not accept anything less than the 27-year-old’s £66m buyout clause which would no doubt scare the Gunners off from a potential deal.
Higuain’s potential arrival at the Emirates would come as a massive boost to Arsenal’s title aspirations, however, a move to Arsenal would no doubt come as a huge shock considering his hefty price tag.
Manchester United have also been linked to Higuain, but it seems the Gunners are in pole position to sign the former Real Madrid man.
