Manchester City defender Matija Nastasic rejected move to Arsenal

On transfer deadline day on Monday the Gunners made one final attempt to sign a new centre-back in the shape of Citizens starlet Nastasic.

Yet according to reports in the Telegraph the 21-year-old rejected the move in order to fight for his place at the Etihad Stadium.

It means manager Arsene Wenger has just three central defensive options in Laurent Koscielny, Per Mertesacker and youngster Calum Chambers.
