Captain Mikel Arteta has been given a new contract
The newly appointed skipper has become the latest player at the Emirates to be rewarded for his form with a new deal, reports the Mirror.
Arteta is said to have extended his stay in North London by another year and will be part of Wenger’s squad until the summer of 2016 as a result.
The club have a policy of not offering players over the age of 30 contracts longer than 12 months and at 32-years-old the Spaniard clearly fits that bracket.
